We hope the secretaries and high ups of the ministries concerned and divisions will be expediting the development activities and project implementation pace and thus ensure cent percent implementation following prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s order.
Sheikh Hasina on Monday at the regular cabinet meeting asked the officials concerned to bring the development activities back to normalcy like in the situation before the deadly Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, the officials concerned must focus more on their respective responsibilities and duties and enhance their activities to reduce the backlogs as two years have already elapsed.
Construction work of the fast-track projects is now progressing fast as experts and employees are working round the clock to complete these projects without any further delay. However, the Covid-19 pandemic has hindered the pace of work of different development projects including fast-track ones. Apart from different development activities, the fast-track projects--Padma Bridge, Padma Bridge Rail Link, Mass Rapid Transit Line-6 (MRT), Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar Rail Link, Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, Matarbari Port Development Project, Rampal Power Plant and the Payra Deep Seaport are now being implemented as Covid-19 pandemic situation has improved significantly in the country. Of them, four mega projects-- the Padma Bridge, Dhaka Metro Rail, Dhaka Elevated Expressway and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Tunnel under the Karnaphuli River in Chattogram will be completed by June next year.
If government officials perform their duties with
utmost sincerity, the country’s image will be
brightened before the world
We all believe when these projects are completed, the country’s economy will see a big change. Besides, following successful implementation of these projects, employment and investment will increase in the country. Therefore, the high officials concerned should perform their duties with sincerity to render proper services in this regard.
The government officials especially secretaries and high ups have huge responsibilities to take measures to speed up the ongoing development projects. When these development schemes will be completed a new era will be opened in the country with fresh hopes and aspirations.
The government officials are responsible for playing a pivotal role in all national activities. We think if they work hard, become accountable and transparent and perform their duties with utmost sincerity, discipline and professional expertise, country’s image will also be brightened before the world.
