BRAC Bank and Bangladesh Freelancer Development Society (BFDS) members have participated in an interactive session to enhance collaboration and find new ways to uplift the promising sector.
At a focused group discussion (FGD) at the bank’s head office, the freelancers discussed industry scenarios, professional experience, challenges and ways to overcome them and how the banking sector can help them further to make the industry more vibrant.
Md. Mostafa Kamal, Director General (Additional Secretary), Department of ICT, Government of Bangladesh, attended the session as the chief guest. Prof. Nazrul Islam, Phd, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Northern University Bangladesh; Dr. Tanjiba Rahman, Chairman, Bangladesh Freelancer Development Society (BFDS); Selim R. F. Hussain, Managing Director and CEO, and Mahiul Islam, Head of Retail Banking, BRAC Bank, and senior officials of BFDS and BRAC Bank were present at the session held at the bank’s head office in Dhaka on November 29.
On the sidelines of the FGD, BRAC Bank and BFDS, the forum that facilitates the works and ventures of the freelancer community, signed an agreement, a partnership that reflects the strong commitment of the two organizations to the promising industry.
Under the agreement, BFDS will ensure API connectivity with BRAC Bank, ensuring faster freelancer onboarding. The collaboration is aimed at helping freelancers avail banking services and bring their remittance faster, safely and cost-effectively.
