A boy died after falling into a septic tank in Mohalchhari upazila of Khagrachhari on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Emran Hossain Babu, 12, son of Shah Alam of Borotila Village in Kumari area of the upazila. Family members said Babu fell into the septic tank after the slab of a toilet broke down at about 12:30pm. Sensing the matter, Babu's maternal uncle Al Amin get down in the tank to rescue his nephew, but he also fainted. Both the uncle and nephew were rushed to the hospital where Babu was declared dead.
Police confirmed the matter.
