Country’s premier bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed today resuming upsurge after a single-day halt as investors opted for bargain hunting on sectors specific small-cap stocks ahead of upcoming earning disclosure, reports BSS.
The broad index, DSEX closed at 4510.77 points on Tuesday with a gain of 17.75 points or 0.39 percent.
Besides, two selective indices, Blue Chip index, DSE30 and Shariah index, DSES also went up by 2.67 points and 2.67 points to settle at 1543.69 points and 1034.39 points respectively. On the DSE trading floor, a total number of 138,717 trades were executed in today’s trading session with a trading volume of 152.83 million securities.
Gainers took a strong lead over losers as out of 355 issues traded, 181 securities gained price while 107 declined and 67 remained unchanged. The top 10 gainers were Coppertech Industries, GBB Power, Dhaka Insurance, Northern Insurance, Rahim Textile, Khulna Printing, Indo-Bangla Pharmaceutical, National Polymer, Beacon Pharma and ADN Telecom.
LafargeHolcim Bangladesh topped the turnover chart followed by Grameenphone, SS Steel, Paramount Textiles, ADN Telecom, Square Pharma, BSC, Pioneer Insurance and British American Tobacco. The top 10 losers were SEML FBSL Growth Fund, Dhaka Dying, Zaheen Spinning, Mercantile Bank First Mutual Fund, SS Steel, ICB Agrani 1st Mutual Fund, SEML LEC Mutual Fund, ICB Islami Bank, Alif Industries and Midas Finance.
On the other hand, port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed at green from the downbeat of previous day. CSCX and CASPI hiked by 35.51 points and 59.19 points to stand at 8316.77 points and 13715.60 points respectively. At CSE, a total of 7,524,437 shares and mutual fund of 233 companies were traded, of which 114 issues advanced while 81 declined and 38 issues remained unchanged.
