Bourses finish week a bit higher

Country’s premier bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed today little higher maintaining the winning streak of previous day, as the investor took a caution position, reports BSS.

The broad index, DSEX closed at 4514.44 points on Thursday, the last working day of the week, with a gain of 2.05 points or 0.04 percent.
Besides, the two selective indices, Blue Chip index, DSE30 and the Shariah index, DSES went down marginally by 4.03 points and 0.86 points to settle at 1548.12 points and 1016.59 points respectively.

On the DSE trading floor, a total number of 115,159 trades were executed in today’s trading session with a trading volume of 131.82 million securities. Gainers took a strong lead over the losers as out of 353 issues traded, 169 securities gained price while 126 declined and 58 remained unchanged.

The top 10 gainers were Khulna Power, Golden Harvest, Kay & Que, Mercantile Insurance, Ifad Autos, Dhaka Insurance, Bangladesh National Insurance Company, Apex Tannery, KDS Accessories and Nahee Aluminum. Ring Shine topped the turnover chart followed by Khulna Power, Northern Insurance, Square Pharma, Mercantile Insurance, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh, Paramount Insurance, BNICL, Kay & Que and Paramount Textile.

The top 10 losers were SEML FBSL Growth Fund, CAN Tex, Delta Spinning, SEML LEC Mutual Fund, Prime Finance First Mutual Fund, Saiham Tex, Tung Hai, Maskson Spinning, Emerald Oil and DESCO. On the other hand, the port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed at green maintaining the winning streak of the previous day.

CSCX and CASPI increased by 7.28 points and 13.14 points to stand at 8331.73 points and 13733.16 points respectively. At CSE, a total of 13,001,301 shares and mutual fund of 236 companies were traded, of which 109 issues advanced while 90 declined and 37 issues remained unchanged.
