Bourses bounce back

Country’s premier bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), bounced back today after witnessing bearish trend in last few sessions, reports BSS.

The broad index, DSEX closed at 4456.83 points on Thursday, the last day of the week, with a sharp gain of 38.88 points or 0.88 percent.

Besides, the two selective indices, Blue Chip index, DSE30 and the Shariah index, DSES also went up by 14.77 points and 11.00 points to settle at 1513.47 points and 997.48 points respectively.

On the DSE trading floor, a total number of 101,118 trades were executed in today’s trading session with a trading volume of 107.61 million securities.

Gainers took a strong lead over the losers as out of 351 issues traded, 206 securities gained price while 91 declined and 54 remained unchanged.

The top 10 gainers were Pragati Life Insurance, Central Pharma, Khulna Power, Golden Harvest, Western Marine, RD Food, Ifad Autos, Prime Life, Zaheen Spinning and Al Arafa Islami Bank.

Zenex Infosys topped the turnover chart followed by Khulna Power, Ring Shine, Beacon Pharma, Sonarbangla Insurance, Golden Harvest, Standard Ceramics, Paramount Textile, Ifad Autos and BNICL.

The top 10 losers were Shyampur Sugar, Bangos, United Air, Tallu Spinning, CNA Tex, Ring Shine, Meghna Condense Milk, BNICL, Prime Finance First Mutual Fund and New Line Clothing.

On the other hand, the port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed at green overcoming the bearish trend of previous days.

CSCX and CASPI increased by 55.22 points and 90.99 points to stand at 8206.57 points and 13531.36 points respectively.

At CSE, a total of 6,324,575 shares and mutual fund of 238 companies were traded, of which 131 issues advanced while 73 declined and 34 issues remained unchanged.
