BOU launches NISH-2 Edn Programme in UAE

In a significant stride towards expanding its international outreach, Bangladesh Open University (BOU) launched its Nish-2 educational programme in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). 

Professor Dr. Syed Humayun Akhtar, Vice-Chancellor of BOU, announced the launch of the NISH-2 education programme as the president of the event via online connection. 

AFM Mezbah Uddin, the Acting Director of BOU's Information and Mass Communication Department, came up with the news through a press release. The UAE Ambassador Mohammed Abu Zafar graced the occasion as the chief guest, emphasizing the significance of educational cooperation between the two nations.

The event took place in an online exchange meeting between BOU, the Bangladesh Embassy in the UAE, and various dignitaries on December 13. The initiative was spearheaded by BOU's International Academic Program Wing, showcasing the university's commitment to global educational collaboration.

Muhammed Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Chief of Mission of the UAE, lauded the timeliness of BOU's programme and laid emphasis on the importance of maintaining educational quality. He highlighted the necessity of identifying target groups and introducing programs and courses tailored to their specific needs.

The event also featured Pro-VC of BOU Prof Mahbuba Nasreen as a special guest, along with contributions from BM Jamal Hussain, Consul General of Dubai and Northern Emirates. Prof. Sabina Yasmin, the Dean of BOU’s Open School, and Prof. Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, the Dean of the School of Social Sciences, Humanities, and Languages, expressed their support for the initiative.

Dr Shafiqul Alam, the Registrar of BOU, extended gratitude on behalf of the university, while Deputy Consul General of Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Md. Shahedul Islam, Commercial Counselor Kamrul Hasan, and Counselor (Labor) Md. Abdus Salam participated in the event through a webinar.

The online gathering saw the presence of various distinguished guests, including First Secretary (ECT) Md. Shahriar Alam, First Secretary (Passport) Md. Kazi Faisal, First Secretary (Press) Md. Arifur Rahman, First Secretary (Labor) Shahnaz Parveen, First Secretary (NID & Sports) Md. Badrul Alam, Second Secretary (HOC) Manik Ranjan Barua, Second Secretary (Protocol) Md Sajjad Zaheer, alongside BOU teachers, officials, employees, and remittance fighters from the UAE. The launch marks a new chapter in educational collaboration between Bangladesh Open University and the United Arab Emirates, fostering knowledge exchange and cultural ties.
