In observance of the 31st gracious foundation day of Bangladesh Open University (BOU), a grand gala cake cutting ceremony was on Tuesday (October 31) on its main campus.
BOU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Humayun Akhter was present at the function as the chief guest. The BOU VC, accompanied by Pro-Vice Chancellors Prof. Dr. Nasim Banu (administration) and Prof. Dr. Mahabuba Nasreen (Academic), Treasurer Prof. Mostafa Azad Kamal and Registrar Dr. Md. Shafiqul Alam, also cut the cake.
Deans of different faculties, directors, teachers and officials of the university were also present there.
Earlier in the morning the VC and others placed a floral wreath at Shwadhinata Chirantan Vaskarja located on the BOU campus as part of paying respect to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and all the martyrs. Besides pigeons were freed on the sky.
