Boro rice procurement begins in Dinajpur

 On May 16, official rice purchase was started in the domestic Boro season at CSD Food Warehouse and Poolhat LSD Warehouse at Dinajpur town. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Mahmudul Alam was the chief guest on the occasion. Boro collection campaign this year will continue till 31st August.

Among others, District Food Controller Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman, Dinajpur Sadar Upazila Parishad chairman Mohammad Imdad Sarker, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Firuzul Islam, Dinajpur CSD Manager Mohammad Mahmud Hasan, Pallhat LSD Acting Officer Mohammad Sadek Sarwar, Dinajpur Chamber of Commerce and Industries Industries President Shuja-ur-Rab Chowdhury, Reza Humayun Faruk Chowdhury Shamim, J The owner of the group caulakala President Mosaddek Hossain, general secretary of Truck Owners Group panu Pratap Saha, deputy general secretary of Sramik Mohammad Alauddin, Sheikhupura Union Parishad Chairman Md Mominul Islam were present in the event.

District Food Controller of Dinajpur Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman said that the government has set a target of buying 5 thousand 48 metric tonnes of rice from 13 farmers of Dinajpur this year. Rice will be bought at Tk 26 a kg. Upazila Rice Purchase Committee will purchase rice by checking the list of peasants.

In the current Boro season, 2,479 mills of Dinajpur have signed an agreement to supply 93 thousand 831 metric tons of rice with the food department. 2,354 Autos and Husking Mills will sell 85 thousand 47 Metric Ton and 125 Autos and Husking Mills will sell  8 thousand 784 Metric Tons of Atap Rice.

According to the food department sources, 513 metric tons of Dinajpur Sadar Upazila, Barisal 368 Metric Ton, Bochaganj 253 Metric Ton, Kahorol 161 Metric Ton, Birganj 433 Metric Ton, Khansamaya 122 Metric Ton, Chirirband 541 Metric Ton, Parbatipur 700 Metric Ton, 433 metric tons in Phulbari, 475 metric tons in Birampur, 215 metric tons in Hakimpur, 543 metric tons in Nawabganj and 291 metric tons of rice will be bought.
