The Regional Commander level meeting between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Security Force (BSF) of India was held at BOP of Benapole under Jashore district on Wednesday. Forces of the two countries agreed to work jointly to resolve border-related issues.
A six-member BGB delegation led by Additional Director General and Regional Commander of South-West Region, Jashore of BGB Md Jalal Ghani Khan joined the meeting from Bangladesh side, while Inspector General (IG) of BSF’s South Bengal Frontier Shri Yagesh Bahadur Khurania led a five-member BSF team in the meeting.
The meeting discussed the bilateral issues including border security, development work in border areas and combined patrolling of BGB and BSF.
BGB Director of Operations Ahmed Junaid Alam Khan said these after the meeting. Col Selim Reza, commanding officer of the 49 BGB, said that the flag meeting at the region commander level of the BGB-BSF in the two countries was fruitful.
