Bangladesh senior national football team will begin its training camp in Dhaka on 13th August, in preparation for a FIFA friendly match against Nepal in Kathmandu during the first week of September. Simultaneously, the Under-23 squad has already started its camp. This team is set to compete in the AFC U-23 tournament qualifiers in Vietnam, a schedule that clashes with the senior team's fixture.
Due to the overlapping schedules, the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has taken the unprecedented step of establishing two separate sub-committees from within its National Team Committee to oversee both sides. The U-23 sub-committee consists of Iqbal Hossain, Chaid Hasan Kanan, and Shahadat Hossain. The National team's sub-committee includes Amirul Islam Babu, Imtiaz Hamid Sabuj, and Mukitur Rahman.
The formation of these committees was decided at a meeting on 22nd July. Official letters, signed by BFF President Tabith Awal and Senior Vice-President Imrul Hasan on 30th July, were distributed to relevant personnel today, outlining their responsibilities.
In addition to monitoring the teams, the sub-committees have also been tasked with securing sponsorships. While sponsorship is typically the domain of the Marketing Committee, this responsibility has been delegated to these new bodies. The senior national team already has UCB Bank as a patron.
BFF President Tabith Awal serves as the chairman of the National Team Committee, with Senior Vice-President Imrul Hasan as the deputy chairman.
According to the constitution, the committee should comprise nine members. However, after one member, Sakhawat Hossain Bhuiyan Shaheen, was relieved of his duties, the current number of members stands at eleven.
