The Bangladesh national football team is in Australia to play in the second round of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in a Group I qualifying match against the host Australia.

The booters spent their first morning at a gym and recovered from nearly 20 hours of travel on Sunday.

Bangladesh coach Javier Cabrera is very careful about the footballers rest. Players can prepare themselves to remove fatigue on Sunday and will start practicing on Monday.

Melbourne weather is totally different for the red and green. The coach is well aware of the change in season. It will be colder there as the match is at 8 p.m. at AAMI Park Stadium, Melbourne, on November 16.

Bangladesh defender Rahmat Mia felt a difference in the weather. He said, ‘Team is ready to adapt to the weather conditions in Melbourne. For this reason, booters came to Australia a few days earlier. The weather will facilitate everything. The team will practice for three days.’

Team manager Amer Khan said, ‘Everyone is fine. The time difference with Bangladesh is five hours, so there is a little lack of sleep.’

The remaining two teams in Bangladesh’s groups are Palestine and Lebanon. After the encounter against the Socceroos, the Men in Red and Green will face off against Lebanon at Bashundhara Kings Arena Stadium on November 21.

The outings against Palestine will take place on March 21 of next year, but the venue has not been announced till now. The match between Palestine and Bangladesh will be shifted because of the Middle East war.

Bangladesh reached the second round of the FIFA World Cup qualifying round after beating the Maldives by a 3-2 aggregate score. The first match between the two sides was a 1-1 draw at the Maldives National Stadium on October 12.

Bangladesh collected one point from their away match. They secured a full three points at the home ground, Bashundhara Kings Arena Stadium, against the same team on October 17.
