Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) General Secretary Imran Hossain Tushar has confirmed that the national team will face Bhutan in a friendly match during the upcoming FIFA international window. While the prospect of playing at home remains uncertain due to the current situation in the country, the BFF is exploring the possibility of a match in Bhutan.

"I've been in discussions with Bhutan regarding the current circumstances," Tushar revealed. "They've expressed some concerns about visiting us, but I'm confident that we'll be able to arrange the match in Bhutan."

The decision to face Bhutan was primarily driven by the desire to improve Bangladesh's FIFA ranking. A higher ranking could potentially place the team in a more favourable group for future AFC tournaments.

"Our current ranking places us in the fourth pot for the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, which means we could face tough opponents," Tushar explained. "By defeating Bhutan, we can potentially move up to the third pot, increasing our chances of a more favourable draw."

While Hamza Chowdhury was initially expected to feature for Bangladesh in this window, Tushar confirmed that the midfielder would not be available. However, the BFF is continuing negotiations with Chowdhury's agent to secure his participation in future matches.
