Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) reached its climax on Wednesday. Hence, national team players have been called into camp on 31st May, with the team training kicking off on 1st June.
The Spanish manager of the national team, Cabrera, and his coaching staff will then face Australia in the World Cup qualifier (second leg) at the Bashundhara Kings Arena Stadium on 6th June.
The Australian team, the "Socceroos," will arrive in Dhaka on 4th June, departing the same evening after the match. The Bangladesh team will travel to Qatar the following day for their final Group I World Cup qualifier against Lebanon.
With just four days to prepare for the Australia clash, Cabrera was unable to request a training camp abroad due to time limitations. He believes the players can continue their preparations domestically.
Significant work has already been done, and the Spaniard doesn't anticipate major problems with playing a warm-up match.
His focus is on a strong performance against Australia.
Bangladesh suffered a heavy defeat (7-0) to Australia on their home soil. Vishwanath Ghosh, Mojibur Rahman Jonny, and Faisal Ahmed Fahim will miss the return leg due to yellow cards. They will rejoin the squad for the Lebanon match on 11th June.
The manager hasn't revealed any potential replacements for the suspended players yet. He's waiting for the league to finish before announcing the full squad on 30th May.
Kings defender Tariq Qazi, who has been out with a long-term injury, hasn't featured for his club recently. Although he's back in training, the manager wants to assess his match fitness for international duty.
