Book on liberation war unveiled in Barguna

A book to commemorate the heroic freedom fighters during the liberation war titled ‘Muktijuddher Smritikatha’ has been published. The book was unveiled at Barguna district on Wednesday.

It was unveiled by Advocate Dhirendra Debnath Shambhu, chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Fisheries and Livestock, Barguna 1 constituency, as the chief guest at a meeting chaired by Barguna Deputy Commissioner Mostain Billah.

With the financial support of the district administration, Deputy Commissioner Mostain Billah has already set up sculptures in different places of Barguna district by identifying the places of pride associated with the memorial during the liberation war.

He set up Mujib Angan Liberation War Museum in front of the Deputy Commissioner's Office and published this book on his reminiscences during the liberation war in Barguna district.

At the unveiling ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner said that the book includes the speeches of His Excellency the President, Hon'ble Prime Minister, Minister for Liberation War Affairs, Divisional Commissioner, Member of Parliament and other eminent persons. He said that the next generation would be able to know the history of the liberation war of Barguna district through this book.

Chairman of Police Maruf Hossain, District Council Delwar Hossain, Municipal Mayor Shahadat Hossain, Former Mayor Advocate Md. Shahjahan Mia, District Freedom Fighter Former Commander Alhaj Abdur Rashid, Former Deputy Commander Abdul Motaleb Mridha, District Awami League General Secretary Golam Sarwar Tuku, Journalist Chitta Ranjan Sheel, Televi­sion Journalists Forum President Sohail Hafeez Journalists Union President Mojibul Haque and others were present. Additional Deputy Commissioner Sarbik Nur Hossain conducted  the program.
