Book fair held in Cox’s Bazar

A day-long book fair was organised at PanirChhara village of Rashid Nagar Union in Ramuupazila of Cox's Bazaron Saturday. The book fair was presided over by Mohammad Selim, President of the steering committee of HSD High School.

Poet ManikBairagi inaugurated the book fair as the chief guest. Chairman of Rashid Nagar Union Parishad Shah Alam was present as special guest. Poet Nasser Bhutto was present as the chief guest. School headmaster HalimUllah, Pokkhali High School headmaster Mohammad Shafi and poet Touhida Azim were present as special guests at the time.

Poet Omar Shawkat's second book of poetry 'MrittikarGhran' was unveiled at the book fair. On behalf of the school management committee, guest poet ManikBairagi, chief guest poet essayist Nasser Bhutto, poet TouhidaAzim and poet Omar Shawkat were honored for their contribution to literature. Special honour was also conveyed to Police Officer Sher Ali PPM.

Six publishing houses took part in the one-day fair and students, teachers and parents bought books and enlivened the fair. On the occasion of the fair, two temporary book sculptures were made at the initiative of the students of the school and made the fair an industrial facility. The organising committee expressed the hope that the book fair would be organized on a larger scale every year.
