Bogura district police has taken a great initiative by installing a drinking water booth the pedestrians and police personnel amid the heatwave in front of Mujib Mancha in Satmatha area of the district town on Tuesday.
Police superintendent (promoted to Additional DIG post) Sudip Kumar Chakrabarty, BPM, inaugurated the drinking water booth for the pedestrians and on-duty police personnel at 11:30am.
At the inauguration ceremony, he said that the normal life is being disrupted due to the ongoing heatwave. Police personnel do their duty wearing uniform for eight to ten hours in the excessive heat. They are performing their duties relentlessly. So, they will get drinking water from it. The thirsty pedestrians will also get drinking water from the water booth.
He also said that their such activities will continue during the heatwave.
People of the district town welcomed such great initiative of Bogura police.
Additional Police Superintendent (Crime) Abdur Rashid, Additional Police Superintendent of Sadar Circle Sharafat Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station Saihan Waliullah and other police officials were present at the inaugural ceremony.
