Bogura markets buzzing with customers

Presence of a huge crowd at the markets of Bogura seems that the Eid-shopping in the district has been started in the full swing by obliterating the threat of spreading the Covid-19 menace. 

Every market and shopping malls in the town are open and customers are not caring for maintaining the minimum social-distance, not even wearing of masks and using the sanitizers. 

However, District Administration sources in Bogura said, the mobile court should be operated to ensure closure of certain shops and maintaining social distance from Monday. 

Rafiqul Islam was seen to visit with his wife and son at a Shoe store. The store was crowded and the salesmen were finding it difficult to manage the customers. In a garment's shop, couples with their children were seen to bargain and choose dresses. Such a rush of customers are being noticed in every shops and markets of the town. 

On Sunday morning at 10-00, all markets of the town have been opened. A huge turn out of customers is being noticed in all sort of shops and markets following their reopening. Even, an acute traffic jam has been created on the city streets and traffic police were seen busy to control movement of vehicles at various busy points of the road.

The markets like New Market, Al-Amin Complex and Sheikh Sharif Uddin Super Markets are all seen crowded. However, a less turn out of customers were noticed at Rana Plaza, Readymade garments markets of Jaleswaritola and in some posh marketes of the town. Though measure of washing hands with sanitizer has been kept in some shops and markets and warning signs have been hung to maintain social distance, only a few customers are seen to follow that.

Mintu Mia of Shibganj at New Market informed, he came to purchase some essential commodities. Shop owners at the market said, the turn out of customers is likely to increase one week later when they would use germicide and sanitizer. 

The town roads were also experiencing a huge rush of vehicles and passerby. Though the local administration was announcing through microphones the people not to visit from one upazila to another but none seems to obey that. Despite a number of police check posts at the entrance points of the town, people were seen to entre and depart the town unabated.  

Rafiqul Islam Sarker, In charge of Bogura Traffice Police outstation informed, the movement of vehicles has been increased with the opening of markets of the town. Traffic Police was controlling movement of vehicles in various busy spots of the roads. 

SM Bodiuzzmaan, Officer in charge of Bogura sadar police station said, crowds have been increased in markets of the town and police was working round the clock in accordance with the order of the government so that Coronavirus situation in the town remain under control. 

Foyez Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner of Bogura informed, social distance and personal safety should be ensured at the markets and the shopping malls. The mobile court will start operating from Monday in this connection.
