Washiur Rahman Ratan (65), News Editor of Dainik Bogura Barta died of massive heart attack while standing at the queue to give samples of Coronavirus test at Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital on Thursday morning.
According to sources, around 12-00 in the morning, Journalist Washiur Rahmat Ratan went with his family members to give samples of blood and nasal swabs at the hospital but he turned ill while waiting in the queue. He was rushed to Medicine ward and admitted there but she died around 12-30 noon during treatment. He left behind his wife, one son and one daughter.
The namaz-e-Janaja of the deceased was held at Namaz Garh graveyard ground in the afternoon.
Journalist Washiur Rahman Ratan is the younger brother of Washiqur Rahman Bechan, Advisory Editor of the Daily Karokoa and son of renowned foot-ball player of the subcontinent Mahbubur Rahman ( Boro Kalu). They used to live at the New Market house.
Journalists, political leaders and renowned personalities of the country have expressed deep shock at the death of Washiur and convey their condolence to the bereaved family members.
