Police have recovered the body of an unidentified man from behind the Subarnogram Resort in Rupganj, Narayanganj.
The body was found floating in a pond on Thursday morning near Aman Mollah’s building, located behind the Subarnogram area of Golakandail Union.
According to locals, the body of a man, approximately 55 years old, was spotted floating on the northern side of the pond. Police arrived at the scene after being alerted and retrieved the body.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Niranjan of the Bhulta Police Outpost said that, acting on information from local residents, officers went to the location, recovered the body and brought it to the police station. No injury marks were found on the body. Initial assumptions suggest the victim may have drowned after entering the pond to bathe.
The body has been sent to Victoria General Hospital in Narayanganj for post-mortem examination. Further legal procedures are currently under way.
