The body of a fisherman who went missing while going for fishing on the sea in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar was found on Monday morning, 13 hours after he went missing.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Rasel, 20, son of Ishak Ahmed, resident of Jahajpura area in Baharchara union.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Teknaf Police Station Muhammad Gias Uddin said the body was recovered from Shilkhali Naval Ghat in Baharchara union of Teknaf upazila.
Quoting the locals, OC Gias Uddin said that Mohammad Rasel went for fishing along with some locals on the sea adjacent to Jahajpura Naval Ghat on Sunday evening. At one point, he was swept away by the wave. Later, other fishermen searched for him. However, they were unable to find him.
His relatives found his body floating on the sea adjacent to Shilkhali Naval Ghat on Monday morning. Later, they informed the police. The body of the deceased was kept at his own house, said the OC.
