Bodies buried in a hole

Mother, brother, two others arrested for triple murder

Police recovered bodies of three persons, including husband, wife and children from Jamshait village in Banagram Union under Katiadi upazila in Kishoreganj on Thursday night. 

The deceased were identified as Asad Mia, 55, son of Mir Hossain of the same village, his wife Parveen, 40, and their youngest son Leon, 11.

According to police sources, Asad Mia along with his family members of Jamshait village was sleeping in his house like every other day while, Assad's younger brother Deen Islam attacked them at about 3pm on Wednesday. 

Deen Islam struck Asad on the head with a shovel. He later killed his sister-in-law Parveen and nephew Leon in the same manner. Soon after the incident, Deen Islam dug a hole next to the house and buried the bodies.

The next day, on Thursday afternoon, Asad's son Mofazzal started looking for his parents and sibling. When he did not find any of them, he informed Katiadi Model Police Station. On the instructions of Katiadi Model Police Station Office-in-Charge M.A Jalil, Sub Inspector Mozammel went to their house and rescued the bodies from a hole in the yard. 

Meanwhile, police arrested four people including his mother and brother on the same night on suspicion of involvement in the murder. Later on Friday, during preliminary interrogation, Asad's younger brother Deen Islam admitted his involvement in the incident.

Police Super Mashrukur Rahman Khaled visited the spot. Hossainpur Circle Additional Police Super Sonahar Ali said, "It is believed that they were killed and their bodies were buried due to a dispute over property. 

Tofazzal, the eldest son of Asad Miah, filed a murder case against Asad's younger brother Deen Islam with Katiadi Model Police Station on Friday night. The accused in the murder case are Deen Islam, 40, Nazma Akhter, 35, Keora Khatun, 65, Al-Amin, 35, Taslima Akhter, 42, Raihan Mia, 24, Mizan Mia, 27, Fazlu Mia, 55 and Azizul, 27. Police produced the four detainees in Kishoreganj court on Saturday afternoon.

Katiadi Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge MA Jalil said Asad Miah's eldest son Tofazzal filed a murder case as a plaintiff. We have already arrested four people and sent them to court. The operation to arrest the remaining accused is ongoing. He added that the mystery of the incident would be revealed soon.

Meanwhile, Deen Islam in his confession to Senior Judicial Magistrate Abdun Noor, said "I have been planning the murder since morning due to previous hostility. With the help of others, I buried the bodies in the same hole”.

Police Super Mashrukur Rahman Khaled told at the press briefing, "In a very short time, we were able to arrest four people, including the main accused Deen Islam. They have been sent to court. The main accused Deen Islam has given a statement under section 164 in the court. A 10-day remand will be applied on Sunday.
