Election campaignins are going on in Gazipur-1 (Kaliakair and part of Gazipur metro) seat centring the upcoming 12th parliamentary elections.
Awami League candidate and Minister for Liberation War Affairs and District Awami League president AKM Mozammel Haque, MP, is facing challenges on theway to victory in the electoral battle.
This veteran leader of Awami League was elected MP from this constituency three times in a row. In the election battle, he will face a tough fight with Kaliakair Upazila Awami League General Secretary and former student leader independent candidate Rezaul Karim Russell (Truck).
According to voters, AKM Mozammel Haque, MP, may face a challenge to win. Independent candidate Rezaul Karim Russell has built a huge fleet by managing local party leaders. On the other hand, Awami League candidate AKM Mozammel Haque MP is campaigning with a small number of transparent image leaders and workers. In the polling field, the two are at odds, said more than one voters of Medi village.
Irene Khandkar of Sakashwar area of that constituency, an activist supported by Boat, said that the voters will evaluate the development in the election, Boat will win again. A total of 6,95,864 voters are in this constituency where 3,46,338 are female voters and 349516 male.There are a significant number of labourer voters in this seat dominated by industrial establishments, who float a lot. Candidates' posters covered the whole area. There are eight candidates in total contesting this constituency that will be held on January 7.
