Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader has claimed that the BNP wants to seize power by any means be it illegal.
He made the claim in a statement on Wednesday.
At the same time, Obaidul Quader condemned and protested that BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and other leaders were lying and spreading false rumours.
He said the people of the country are tired of hearing unrealistic statements and lies of BNP leaders including Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
Without adhering to democratic norms, the BNP leaders only want to implement a malicious political agenda through illegal means, he added. Obaidul Quader further said, “The BNP has never conducted any political program for the welfare of the people. That is why they have become aimless, ineffective and failed political party. People do not support any statement of BNP. The politics of seizing power is more important to BNP than the welfare of the people of the country.”
Mentioning that Bangladesh has become a role model of development under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the minister said that the PM is leading the way by overcoming all obstacles and crossing the path of friend and embracing the dreams and aspirations of the Bengali nation.
As a result, Bangladesh is moving forward at a relentless pace in the journey of establishing the golden Bengal of Bangabandhu's dream and building a developed and prosperous state, he added.
