A BNP delegation has met Bhujopati Chakma, the cancer-stricken mother of 'Golden Girl' footballer Rituparna Chakma, under the direction of Tarique Rahman, acting chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and main sponsor of 'Amra BNP Paribar'.
The delegation met with Rituparna Chakma's family in the remote hill village of Magachhari in Ghagra Union of Kaukhali Upazila of Rangamati on Wednesday, led by the party's senior joint secretary general and 'Amra BNP Paribar' chief advisor Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, and in the presence of 'Amra BNP Paribar' convener Atiqur Rahman Rumon.
At this time, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi conveyed a message of sympathy to the concerned family on behalf of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

It is known that Rituparna's father Baraj Banshi Chakma died of cancer in 2015. Ritu developed as a player under his father's inspiration. She is also continuing her studies at the Philosophy Department of Dhaka University.
Recently, Rituparna scored two goals against Myanmar in the AFC Women's Asian Cup qualifiers, leading the team to a 2-1 victory. She also scored a goal against Turkmenistan.
