Voters have lost their interest to cast their votes as BNP spread propaganda about EVM (Electronic Voting Machine) before the City polls. Presence of voters were also decrease as BNP started destructive culture ahead of election in our country, said Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, while addressing a view-exchange meeting with journalists in Pabna Circuit House on Friday.
Information Minister also said BNP’s prediction over the Dhaka city elections was wrong, claiming that the elections were held in a free, fair and peaceful manner. “There was no unwanted situation during the city polls, there is no scope of vote rigging in using EVMs. Once the machine reads the finger of a voter, he or she can only give vote. Otherwise, nobody is able to give vote,” he added.

“There was 30 percent of voter turnout in the Dhaka city elections. BNP’s prediction over the Dhaka city elections was wrong,” he said. Hasan, also the Awami League joint general secretary, came down heavily on BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, saying as per Fakhrul’s remarks it seems that the government is running with the money of private companies.
He the government will take the additional money of public agencies, which is unused, aiming to bring discipline in the financial sector.

Awami League Presidium Member Mohammed Nasim, Organizing Secretary SM Kamal Hossain, and local lawmakers of Pabna-5 constituency Golam Faruk Khandakar Prince and Ahmed Firoz Kabir lawmaker of Pabna-2 constituency among others were also present.
