Agriculture Minister and Awami League presidium member Dr Md Abdur Razzaque said that BNP has entered a contest of movement to show off to the people. They are giving provocative speeches, slogans and programs every day. Blockage of roads is causing suffering in the movement of people. They attack the police unnecessarily. There is no reason to give movement program every day. The government's responsibility is to provide security to people's lives and property, to maintain peace and order. That is what the government is doing.

The minister said this while interacting with reporters before attending a workshop on inclusion of oil crops in the existing crop rotation and increasing the production of high yielding varieties of rice at the Advocate Tarek Smriti Auditorium at the Town Hall in Mymensingh on Monday morning.

Pointing out that BNP has never been successful in the movement, the minister said that in 2014, BNP ran rampant for three consecutive months in the name of movement, including arson, vandalizing cars and burning people. Even then they did not succeed. Khaleda Zia returned home with shame on her head and face. Not successful in three months. And now they cannot succeed by creating chaos through provocative and disorderly activities. People will resist them.

Awami League leaders and activists are people of the streets, the minister said that it will not be useful to scare them with the movement of the streets and we are also people of the streets. Almost all the leaders and workers of Awami League have protested on the streets, served jail time, faced lawsuits. Will face any situation in the coming days too.

In response to the questions of the journalists about fixing the prices of the products, the minister said, I think that the prices of the products should not be fixed, but those who create artificial crisis should be identified and brought under the law. In an open market economy, it is not possible to implement the price of products by fixing them. We can give an indicator that the price should not be more than Rs. But the market must be strictly monitored and controlled. Mill owners try to make huge profits by suddenly raising prices. They should be brought under the law, license should be cancelled.

The Minister said that the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Food, Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock and Ministry of Agriculture always work together in coordination through dialogue.

Later the minister attended the workshop organized by Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) and Directorate of Agricultural Extension. At this time, he said, the uncertainty in the production of Aman has been removed. If there is no natural calamity, Aman's production may be higher than last year.

Regarding the preparation of Bangladesh in the situation that various organizations are giving predictions and warnings that the global food crisis will increase in the coming days, the minister said that the current government is on the right track to deal with the food situation. There has been no food crisis in the last 13 years. Even in the face of Corona and war, the country is in a very good position in terms of food security. I am emphasizing on increasing food production so that there is no problem in the coming days.

Agriculture Secretary presided over the workshop. Saidul Islam.
