BNP lawmaker Md Harunur RashidA Dhaka court sentenced BNP lawmaker Md Harunur Rashid for 5 years imprisonment in a tax-evasion case. Dhaka Special Court-4 Judge Sheikh Nazmul Alam gave the verdict on Monday (Oct 21). The court also slapped Harunur Tk 5 million, if default, he will have to serve another six months in jail.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case against the BNP lawmaker for evading tax while purchasing cars in 2007. Inspector Mainul Islam of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court confirmed that, the convict has been sent to jail after the verdict.
