Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud commented that 'BNP has run out of breath, so they have taken the path of walking'.

He made this comment in response to a question from journalists after visiting the venue of Awami League President Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's public meeting at Madrasah Ground in Rajshahi on Friday afternoon.

Dr Hasan said, 'Just as people cannot run when they run out of breath, it seems that BNP has run out of breath, so they have now launched a silent march in Dhaka. In fact, when the car is old, sometimes if it is not started, the car becomes immobile. That is why BNPO announced various programs after a few days.

In response to a question about the preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting said, 'We Awami League go to the people throughout the year and stand by them. For the past 14 years, we have been with people, we were before, we will be in the future. Only Awami League has been accused of lack of people's happiness and sadness.'

Dr Hasan Mahmud reminded, 'During the Coronavirus epidemic, foodstuff and corona prevention material, besides the government, this Awami League has delivered them to the people of the whole country. While doing that, many leaders and activists have been affected by Corona, many have lost their lives. BNP was not even found at that time. Awami League has always stood by the people in any crisis including storms, floods and hurricanes. The stars of BNP come like winter birds before elections, feed, get fat and leave again.'

Regarding the Prime Minister's visit to Rajshahi on Sunday, the party's joint general secretary said, 'The enthusiasm created among the people and leaders of the entire Rajshahi division due to the visit of Bangabandhu's daughter, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, is not possible to accommodate people in the Madrasa ground, the public meeting place. People of entire Rajshahi are looking forward to welcome Sheikh Hasina. With the arrival of millions of people, the whole city will become a sea of people.'

On the occasion of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's visit to Rajshahi and preparations for the public meeting, Awami League's Rajshahi and Rangpur Division Joint General Secretary Hasan Mahmud arrived in Rajshahi from Dhaka on Friday afternoon. He arrived at Jansabha Maidan Madrasa ground directly from the airport and visited the ground with central and local leaders and workers.

Awami League leaders include Presidium member and Rajshahi City Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, Member of Parliament Md Ayen Uddin, party central member Begum Akhtar Jahan, Rajshahi Metropolitan Branch General Secretary Dabul Sarkar, District Branch Acting President Anil Sarkar, General Secretary Abdul Wadud Dara and others. He was present at this time.
