Like previous general elections, the next one will also be held in line with the provisions of the Constitution. Therefore, the next national election will be held on time to uphold the continuation of the democratic trend in the country.
People will choose their respective candidates and cast votes in favour of them. They will give the vote to whoever they want as the sole owner of their vote.
The party which will get the people’s vote will form the next government. This is the democratic trend, and it will continue. But Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its like-minded parties, mostly anti-liberation and communal forces are out to make Bangladesh a failed state centring the next general elections at any cost.
BNP leaders are saying the current regime will be forced to concede to their demand for holding the next election under a non-party government. It is clear to all that the party wants to establish an unelected government in the country through caretaker government as it does not want elections in the country.
The government has made it clear
that there would be no dialogue
between the ruling Awami League
and BNP on the caretaker
government system
Country’s people know the BNP will not get benefit from their movement on caretaker government issue. The government has made it clear that there would be no dialogue between the ruling Awami League and BNP on the caretaker government system which has been abolished by the court.
On May 11 in 2011, the Supreme Court declared illegal the constitutional provision that mandates an elected government to transfer power to an unelected non-partisan caretaker administration to oversee a new parliamentary election on completion of its term. Later, on June 30 in 2011 parliament abolished the caretaker government system allowing general elections under elected partisan governments.
The BNP-Jamaat clique is an anti-state evil political force which was created at the blessings of a Pakistani intelligence agency. The party’s main task is to carry out destructive acts. We believe the evil forces will face defeat, good forces will be victorious and the next national election will be held on time in a free, fair and peaceful manner.
