Ruling Awami League (AL) has invited different political parties, including Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), to its two-day national council scheduled to begin at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan in the city today, reports BSS.
The AL sent separate invitation cards to four BNP leaders — BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee Members Dr Khandoker Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Moudud Ahmed and Mirza Abbas — on the occasion of its 21st national council, AL Central Sub-committee Member Ziauddin Ahmed Sipu told BSS on Thursday.
Ziauddin himself handed over the invitation cards to BNP Assistant Information and Research Secretary Riaz Uddin Nasu at the BNP chairperson’s political office in the city’s Gulshan area.
Besides, Jatiya Party, Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), Workers Party of Bangladesh, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh, Gono Forum, Jatiya Ganatantrik League, Jatiya Party (JP), Samyabadi Dal and all pro-Liberation War political parties have been invited to the AL council. AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the two-day council at 3 pm today.
