BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman now absconding in London has allegedly deployed ‘petrol bomb squad’ for setting fire on vehicles across the country.

The government has sufficient proof that Tarique Rahman engaged his ‘bomb exploding squad’ as he could not keep confidence in BNP leaders to create turmoil in the country. Tarique Rahman himself has asked ward level BNP leaders to go for rampage, set fire on transports and launch attack on law enforcing agencies, according to media news.

At least two transport workers were burnt severely when blockaders hurled petrol bomb on a goods-laden covered van in Kaliganj of Gazipur district while another covered van of a courier service was set on fire in the Shapmara area of Matiranga upazila in Khagrachhari on Wednesday morning. Miscreants also set a bus of ‘Bahon Paribahan’ on fire in the capital’s Malibagh area on Tuesday night, ahead of the countrywide blockade.

After Sunday morning to Tuesday morning countrywide blockade, another 48-hour road, rail and waterways blockade called by BNP-Jamaat is underway now. Earlier last week, the opposition’s three-day countrywide blockade saw clashes and widespread incidents of burning and vandalising vehicles, leaving four people — three in Kishoreganj and one in Sylhet — killed and over three dozen vehicles either burned or vandalised.

BNP leaders have proved that the party could not come out of their confrontational, petrol bomb attacks and destructive politics. The party’s movement means destroying national resources and killing the country’s people through arson attacks.

In the same style, BNP deployed petrol-bomb squad in 2013, 2014 and 2015 to ruin the country. Arson terror is a crime against humanity. BNP and its allies have a long history of arson attacks, violence and aggression.

In early 2000s BNP and its far right ally Jamaat-e-Islami promoted an atmosphere of violence and intimidation, particularly during the 2001 general elections. As a democratic country there will be political programmes by various parties, it is natural. Everyone has to accept it.

But, BNP activists, in the name of political programmes, are hurling petrol bombs targeting vehicles, burning vehicles and public properties. Like the Pakistan military junta in 1971, country’s people saw the BNP-Jamaat launching petrol bomb attacks and mercilessly murdering ordinary people alive again.

After assuming power in 2001, BNP attacked houses of Awami League leaders, activists and supporters and perpetrated inhuman torture including rape like the Pakistani occupation forces of 1971. They (BNP-Jamaat alliance) did it time and again during 2013-15 (in the name of a movement to oust the AL government).

Arson

terror is

a crime against humanity

Therefore, how the people of the country can forget the dreadful petrol bomb attacks? All should renew the pledge to safeguard perpetually the country’s independence and sovereignty.

We are noticing that the anti-liberation and communal forces along with BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami get active ahead of the country’s every national election. When the general election approaches in Bangladesh there is an ache of losses and we also fear to lose.

Like in the past, the BNP-Jamaat alliance is now desperate to turn Bangladesh into a new Pakistan again, but we believe country’s people would not let that happen. We people imbued with the spirit of the Liberation War have to remain alert against the communal forces so that they could not create any unwanted situation in the country.

Being benefitted politically, the anti-liberation forces are always hatching conspiracies and killing innocent people. The pro-liberation forces must devote themselves for the betterment of the country and thwart anti-state conspiracies unitedly.

We believe there would be no compromise with the descendants of the anti- liberation forces as they are out to hatch a conspiracy to grab the state power through clandestine alleyways instead of standing by the people during this global crisis. In the name of movement, they (BNP) want to gain political interest by creating a frightening situation through terrorism and violence. In fact, their main motive is to create disorder.

Country’s people can now understand that this is their strategy but they (BNP) will not be able to become successful.
