BNP MPs’ resignation won’t paralyse parliament: Quader

The Parliament will not be paralised due to the resignation of BNP MPs, Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said. "People do not want to go back to Bangladesh of militancy, sectarianism and murder. People do not believe in the politics of murder,” he said.

He said this in a public meeting organized by Awami League of Savar, Ashulia and Dhamrai upazilas and Savar municipality on Saturday. Earlier this morning, Awami League leaders joined the public meeting in Savar with piecemeal processions. The field was filled to the brim. At this time they gave various slogans.

Savar Upazila Awami League president Mrs. Hasina Daula presided over the meeting held at the college grounds of Savar Radio Colony.

Awami League presidium member Dr. was a special guest at the public meeting. Abdur Razzak, Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Advocate Kamrul Islam, Joint General Secretary and Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni, AFM Bahauddin Nashim, Organizing Secretary Mirza Azam, Dhaka District Awami League President Benjir Ahmad and General Secretary Paniruzzaman Tarun.

Earlier, on Saturday (December 10) seven members of parliament elected from the party announced their resignations at the Dhaka Divisional Assembly of BNP at Golapbagh ground in the capital.

BNP MPs in the 11th National Assembly are Chapainawabganj-2 constituencies. Aminul Islam, Chapainawabganj-3 Constituency Md. Harunur Rashid, Abdus Sattar of Brahmanbaria-2 seat, Md. of Bogra-4 seat. Mosharraf Hossain, Bogra-6 Golam Mohammad Siraj and Thakurgaon-3 Zahidur Rahman. Rumin Farhana is a reserved Member of Parliament of BNP.
