Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said that the BNP is the main obstacle in making the march of democracy uninterrupted in Bangladesh. This is the reality of Democracy Day today.
He said that whatever the BNPE is doing t to obstruct the democratic march and they are the main obstacle to democratic norms and democratic state system.
The Information Minister said these things while inaugurating the Janatarsarkar.gov.bd interactive web portal organized by the Information Technology Department on the occasion of the International Democracy Day at the Kakrail Information Bhavan Auditorium in the capital on Thursday afternoon.
Member of Parliament Nahid Izahar Khan, Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer Council Ranjit Kumar and senior journalist Masuda Bhatti spoke on the occasion under the chairmanship of State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak.
The information minister said, 'Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation, has created this country with his life for the purpose of creating a non-communal democratic state. But our democratic state system stumbled when the father of the nation was killed in his family on August 15, 1975. After that, Ziaur Rahman first defeated Khandaker Mushtaq and later became the President with the signature of Justice Sayem. After that, Ziaur Rahman gave away the rest of the power and coordinated the crows of politics and formed the BNP party. He brutally killed thousands of soldiers to eliminate power.'
"Begum Zia also followed that path" Dr Hasan said, 'The 76 kg bomb attack in Kotalipara, in 2004, the grenade attack was carried out in front of the office of the country's largest political party in the heart of Dhaka to kill the Awami League leadership. 5 members of parliament of Awami League were injured, 22 Awami League leaders and activists including Begum Ivy Rahman were victims of murder, 24 were killed, more than 500 Awami League leaders and activists were injured. Like other injured people, I still have a lot of sprinters in my body. In 2013-14-15, the government locked people in their houses day after day in the name of siege and killed hundreds of people by throwing petrol bombs, setting thousands on fire.'
The minister said, 'those who took power by raising their arms, formed a party by handing over power and killed thousands of people to get rid of power, killed thousands of Awami League workers, today BNP makes a statement on the occasion of World Democracy Day by talking about democracy'. Which is ridiculous. The Taliban is also among the 22-party coalition of BNP. In Afghanistan, beheadings are carried out because of their views, keeping the ideological political parties and Jamaat-e-Islami, who did not want the country. So they are the main obstacle to today's democratic state system.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that Janata Sarkar Citizen Interactive Web Portal will create a bridge between the general public and the government of the country.
Pointing out that it has been created to ensure a better democracy by developing democratic practices to implement the people-oriented vision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the visionary of Digital Bangladesh, Palak said, 'Through this, people can give constructive criticism or suggestions or recommendations.
