Leaders of the Chitalmari Sadar Union unit of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its affiliated Volunteers’ Wing have extended financial support to several Durga Puja mandaps in the area. The initiative was led by Khan Moniruzzaman, President of Chitalmari Sadar Union BNP, and Md. Niamat Ali Khan, a prominent businessman and Convenor of the Upazila Volunteers’ Wing.
On Wednesday, the delegation visited various puja mandaps across Chitalmari Upazila, exchanged greetings with devotees, and handed over financial contributions. The support was provided in honour of Sharadiya Durga Puja, the most significant religious festival for the local Hindu community. During the visits, the leaders also took part in discussions with temple committee members, priests, and devotees.
Among those accompanying the delegation were Raju Khan, General Secretary of the Labour Wing; Elahi Molla, former Student Wing Secretary; Tipu Shikdar, former Labour Wing President; Rezaul Sheikh, BNP leader; Aulia Sheikh, former Union BNP General Secretary; and Union Volunteers’ Wing leaders Rubel Sheikh and Sohel Sheikh, along with other local party members.
