UNB, Chattogram:: A 42-year-old BNP leader suffered bullet injuries in a gun attack by some miscreants at Sarafbhata in Rangunia upazila of Chattogram district on Sunday night.
The injured were identified as Osman Goni, general secretary of Sarafbhata union unit BNP.
Belayet Hossain, assistant superintendent of Rangunia Circle, said 4-5 masked miscreants stormed into the house of Osman at Ganjam Ali Sarkar Bari around 8 pm.
Later, they stabbed and opened fire on Osman, leaving him injured.
Osman’s parents were injured as they tried to save their son.
Osman received bullet injuries on his hand and abdomen while Osman’s mother suffered bullet injuries on her leg during the attack.
Later, they were taken to Rangunia Upazila Health Complex from where Osman was taken to Evercare Hospital in Chattogram.
Police are trying to arrest the attackers.
