BNP is plotting to hinder country’s progress: Nanak

Awami League Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak on Thursday said despite the fact that the country is moving forward under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, BNP is still hatching conspiracy against the country.

"BNP wants to pull back the country.Awami League leaders and activists should remain cautious against any kind of plots orchestrated by BNP," Nanak said while addressing a discussion as the chief guest.

Jagannath University (JNU) unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League organised the discussion, marking historic March 7. He also said BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and his wife Khaleda Zia had banned the March 7 Speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman because they were scared of the historic speech. 

AL Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, who was present at the program, said, "Anti-liberation force is trying to make independence of the country questionable.so, we will have to remain alert to their conspiracy."

He said, "A pro-BNP syndicate wants to create anarchy in the country by hoarding food items. So we need to be remain alert regarding their hefty profits."

Besides, the government is monitoring the market every day, he added.

AL Organising Secretary BM Muzammel Haque, Legal Affairs Secretary Advocate Kazi Nazibullah Hiru, and Nazrul Islam Babu, MP were present as the special guests.

With Jagannath University (JNU) unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League president Md Ibrahim Farazi in the chair, it's general secretary SM Akter Hossain conducted the discussion.

Vice-Chancellor of Jagannath University professor Dr Imdadul Haque and professor Dr Kamaluddin Ahmed, president of Bangladesh Chhatra League central committee Al-Nahean Khan Joy and General Secretary Lekhak Bhattachargee, among others, were present.
