In an effort to encourage sports among the youth, footballs and jerseys were distributed in Porsha, Naogaon. Locals praised the initiative as a commendable step towards promoting a healthier and more active lifestyle among the younger generation.
On Monday morning, at Tatipara Mor in Porsha, players from 11 football clubs across Niamatpur, Porsha, and Sapahar upazilas were presented with these gifts on behalf of the BNP. The initiative was organised by Nurul Islam, Vice President of Niamatpur Upazila BNP. The footballs and jerseys were distributed in the name of BNP’s Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman.
Present at the event were Shamsuddin, Executive Member of Niamatpur Upazila BNP, former member Ishaq Ali, and several leaders and activists from BNP and its affiliated organisations.
In his speech, Nurul Islam stated that the core strength of Tarique Rahman’s 31-point agenda lies in the youth. He emphasised that the future leadership of the country will emerge from today’s young generation. "We want our youth to develop through sports, education, and positive thinking, so that tomorrow’s Bangladesh becomes a nation of justice, competence, and dreams," he added.
