BNP believes in the power of conspiracy, weapons: Hasan

Awami League Joint General Secretary, Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said, “BNP does not believe in the power of the people, but in the power of conspiracies and weapons.”

He was responding to a question from reporters after a special meeting of the Dinajpur Awami League at the Dinajpur Zila Parishad on Saturday noon.

Dr Hasan said, “Mirza Fakhrul Saheb has said that he will not go to the polls without a caretaker government because BNP does not believe in the power of the people, but in the politics of conspiracies and weapons. That is why they say not to go to the polls. They have tried in the past to prevent the election, but did not succeed.”

The Joint General Secretary of the Awami League, said in response to a question about the recent incidents in Cumilla, Pirganj and Noakhali, “The investigation is showing how Barkatullah Bulu fueled the Noakhali incident and who persuaded Iqbal, everything is slowly coming out."

The information minister said, “We instructed all the leaders and activists from our party across the country to stand by the Hindu community and they stood by. The government took immediate action. So far, 129 cases and more than 1,200 arrests have been made.

Earlier, in the meeting was chaired by Dinajpur District Awami League President Mostafizur Rahman Fizer and conducted by General Secretary Azizul Imam Chowdhury, Awami League Organising Secretary Sakhawat Hossain Shafiq, Member Abdul Awal Shamim, Jatiya Sangsad Whip and local MP Iqbalur Rahim, Shibli Sadiq MP spoke.
