BNP announces 15-day prog, marking Ziaur Rahman’s death anniversary

BNP unveiled a 15-day programme to mark the 43rd death anniversary of party founder Ziaur Rahman on Wednesday.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the party's secretary-general, announced the schedule during a press conference at BNP's central office in Naya Paltan, in the capital. 

The programme is set to run from May 28 to June 11.

The activities include a free medical camp in Naya Paltan organised by DAB, a nationwide hoisting of party and black flags at six in the morning, and a wreath-laying at Ziaur Rahman's memorial on May 30. 

Additional activities include a Doa Mahfil in Naya Paltan on May 31 and discussion meetings at the Engineer's Institute on May 28. 

Along with food distribution to the underprivileged, book fair exhibitions, essay competitions, poetry readings, discussion forums, and seminars will all take place in cities, districts, and upazilas throughout the nation. 

There will be unique programmes offered by every BNP wing.

During the press conference, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir emphasised the significance of remembering Ziaur Rahman, heralded as the advocate of multi-party democracy and a key figure in shaping modern Bangladesh.
