A function was held in Kishoreganj on Saturday morning at the initiative of Nafisa Nazrul Foundation in collaboration with the upazila administration marking Mujib Year. After the function, 1,500 blankets and educational materials were distributed among the poor and orphans.
Kishoreganj-1 MP Dr. Syeda Zakia Nur Lipi addressing the function as the chief guest. Later, she also paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Leader Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Shamim Alam presided over the meeting while, Zila Parished Chairman Md. Zillur Rahman, Sadar Upazila Awami League President Advocate Md. Ataur Rahman and former General Secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League central committee Ajoy Kor Khokon attended as special guests. District Awami League President Advocate Kamrul Ahsan Shajahan was present as the chief speaker.
Among others by Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Abdul Kadir Mia, Female Vice Chairman Masuma Akter, District Student League Organizing Secretary Luthfor Rahman Nayan and others spoke at the time.
