Blankets have been distributed among distressed people in Patuakhali district by the initiative of Disaster management and Relief Ministry. More than 300 people in the area received blankets on Thursday noon.
Reserved seat MP for Patuakhali 1, 2 and 3 constituencies MP Kazi Kanij Sultana inaugurated the blanket distribution programme at the district office of Bangladesh Awami League at Thursday noon.
The programme was presided by Patuakhali Awami League Senior Vice-President Gias Uddin and moderated by AL Leader Mahbuba Morshed. District Awami Mahila League General Secretary Zakia Sultana Baby, Mirzaganj Upazila AL Vice President Ismail Hossain Mridha, GS Jashim Uddin and others were present at the programme.
Distressed people in the area were seemed relieved after receiving aid from the ministry. Many of them expressed their gratitude towards the government to took initiative to reduce their sufferings.
