The Jhenaidah district administration distributed blankets among the poor people in the midnight. The blankets were distributed at several places in the district town
Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Jhenaidah Saroj Kumar Nath led the blanket distribution team at Pairachattar, Mujibchattar, Arappur and some other spots. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC-general) Arif Uz Zaman, ADC (revenue) Selim Reza, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Jhenaidah Sadar Badruddoza Subho among others participated.
Some people receiving the blanket in the chilling cold said it was blessings for them when the DC himself handed over the warm clothing among the poor and distressed ignoring the midnight cold wave.
DC Saroj Kumar Nath said that they received the first consignment of 33,60 pieces of blanket which they have been distributing among the needy people suffering from cold.
