‘Black Adam’ producer Hiram Garcia promises the movie will have a high body count. Starring Dwayne Johnson as ‘Black Adam’, the DC movie is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and co-stars Pierce Brosnan as Dr Fate, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Sarah Shahi as Isis, and Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher. The film's plot is unknown, but previous images, video, and tidbits shared by Johnson, both on social media and at the last two DC FanDome events, tease a good amount of time being spent on Black Adam's origin and how he came to be the anti-hero he is so well-known as.
The film will be Johnson's first foray into the big-budget superhero genre, having paved his way thus far with high-octane action films, comedies, and even a few family films along the way. ‘Black Adam’, however, will also be more than a simple superhero film, as the character is far from your standard-issue 'good guy,' like ‘Superman’ or ‘Shazam’. He's commonly known as the arch-nemesis of Shazam and is often portrayed with evil, devious, or downright mean intentions. However ‘Black Adam’ has been known to sometimes manage to do a good deed or two throughout his adventures, occasionally teaming up with the heroes when it suits his needs.
Producer Hiram Garcia has already said that ‘Black Adam’ will be "fun and edgy," but while talking to CBR he revealed that it will also have a high body count. Garcia compares the film's PG-13 rating to be akin to Christopher Nolan's ‘The Dark Knight’, which pushed the ratings' bounds; something DC is aiming to do with ‘Black Adam.’ Garcia goes on to say that the film has "a very high kill count," which could be looked at in any number of ways, be it at the hands of ‘Black Adam’ or of the supporting cast (or unnamed villains of the film)
