A man named Bazal Ahmed, 65, died of corona infection on Friday morning while undergoing treatment at the corona unit at the Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Disease (BITID) Hospital in Faujdarhat, Chottogram. Now the death toll in Chattogram stands at 5. The deceased was identified as resident of Pahartali Saraipara.
BITID has recently identified 19 corona patients. Chattogram Civil Surgeon Dr Fazle Rabbi revealed this information last Thursday. He said out of 111 sample tests by the BITID, 19 people were found positive.
BITID Director Prof Dr MA Hasan Chowdhury said that one patient was admitted with pneumonia and shortness of breath. The patient was diagnosed with corona disease last Thursday. The patient died while undergoing treatment at the corona unit on Friday morning.
Chattogram has so far identified 33 corona patients. Currently 28 people are undergoing treatment at the corona unit. The corona patients in Chattogram are- Dampara 5, Sagarika 6, Saraipara 1, Halishahar 1, Firingibazar 1, Golpahar 1, Pahartali CCA Market 1, Katalganj 1, North Kattli 1, Bandar Nimtala 1, Ichhamati Alinagar of Satkania Upazila has 9 persons, Sitakund Godown Road 1, Patiya Upazila 1 and Kagi Patra 1, Boalkhali Upazila 1 and Anwara Upazila 1.
