Biswabidyalaya Porikroma accords reception to GPA-5 recipients in Cumilla

Biswabidyalaya Porikroma on Sunday organised a grand reception programme for about one thousand students who received GPA 5 in the Higher Secondary Certificate examination this year in Comilla district. 

The reception programme was held at the district Shilpakala academy on Sunday (June 4), said a press release.

Biswabidyalaya Porikroma chief editor Harun Or Rashid chaired the reception programme while Member of the parliament from Comilla-6 constituency freedom fighter AKM Bahauddin Bahar MP was present there as the chief guest.

While speaking, freedom fighter AKM Bahauddin Bahar urged countrymen to support Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government to build a dream Bangladesh.

 “Bangladesh is now a role model of development in the world. PM Hasina is working tirelessly to move the country towards smart Bangladesh,” he added.

Recalling some moments he spent with father of the nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, AKM Bahauddin Bahar said, “I grew up upholding the ideals of Bangabandhu. Father of the nation Bangabandhu touched my head. I have been doing politics for 50 years upholding his ideals.” 

“I have never been involved in any corruption as i pick-up arms to fight against the Pakistani military under the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.” he added.

The member of the parliament assured to transform Comilla Victoria Government College to Comilla University and Comilla University to Comilla Science and Technology University.

He also demanded to make Comilla district a separate division.

He advised meritorious students to be aware of drugs and corruption.

Comilla Victoria College principal professor Dr Abu Jafar Khan, Debidwar Upazila Parishad chairman and Comilla north Awami League organizing secretary Md Abul Kalam Azad, National Life Insurance chief executing officer Md Kazim Uddin, Burichang Sadar Union Parishad chairman Engineer Joynal Abedin were present at the reception programme among others.
