Bangladesh International School and College, Nirjhor on Thursday organised its Sports Carnival 2026 on the school campus in Dhaka Cantonment, showcasing students’ athletic skills and creative talents.
Major General Mohammad Sadat Hossain, director general of the Directorate General of Defence Purchase, attended the programme as the chief guest.
Students took part in a range of sporting events, which were observed by the chief guest and other invited dignitaries.
Following the competitions, a cultural display titled “Chiro Unnoto Shir” was presented by the students.
The presentation highlighted the eternal youth, rebellious spirit, egalitarian ideals, humanism and quest for freedom of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, drawing appreciation from the audience.
In his concluding remarks, the chief guest said sports play a vital role in shaping students’ physical fitness as well as discipline, teamwork, mental strength and leadership qualities.
“These qualities are essential for achieving success in future life,” he said, congratulating the students, teachers, parents and organisers on the successful arrangement of the carnival.
He also expressed optimism that the institution would continue its steady progress and further enrich its educational and co-curricular activities.
The event was attended by the chairperson of the school’s governing body, the principal, senior military and civilian officials, teachers, guardians, invited guests and students.
