83-year aged freedom fighter Abdul Khaleque hails from Chapal village of Godagari upazila. Though he was awarded Bir Bikram title for his outstanding courage and operation against the marauding Pakistani forces during the War of Liberation, he remained obliterated due to erroneous entry of his name in the Gazette of the Freedom Fighters. However, on June-6,2020, his name and title as Bir Bikram was properly included in the Gazette of the FFs.

Masum Akhter Zaman, elder son of Khaleque informed his father has been suffering from fever and breathing problem with cough for last four-day. On Sunday night, he suffered from severe headache and he was admitted to the hospital on  Monday morning.

Naoshad Ali, Principal of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital informed, Bir Bikram Abdul Khaleque suffers from Coronavirus symptoms. It is learnt, the Gazettes for titled Freedom fighters published in 1973 and in 2004 were erroneous. In 2011, Abdul Khaleque applied for the correction of the gazette which was lost by the Ministry . Later on, he freshly applied for the correction of the Gazette in 2019 and finally, he got recognition as a Freedom Fighter with the title of Bir Bikram.
