Binadhan-17 has been quite popular in the Nabinagar Upazila. The Upazila Agriculture Office and Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA), Cumilla, made a joint venture on Binadhan-17 plantation in 60 bighas of land.
Simultaneously planting of all varieties of rice reduces diseases, and mutual care, water management is much easier. Under the supervision of Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officer Gias Uddis Naeem, the caste change programme was implemented in pilot form in Ibrahimpur Union of Nabinagar Upazila.
Farmers Naeem said that many farmers have got involved in the plantation of the same Binadhan-17, so it was easy for them to do related work for better production.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Agronomist Md Jahangir Alam Liton said that synchronous farming is our new concept, which increases farmers’ interaction and encourages yield. In the light of this programme, we will promote hybrid cultivation in Haor region in the future in a timely manner to produce early paddy.”
