Biman Bangladesh Airlines will resume flights on Chattogram-Sylhet- Chattogram route for the first time in the history of the country’s aviation.
The inaugural flight will depart the port city of Chottogram for Sylhet on March 17 to mark the birth centenary of father of the Bengali nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The airline will operate flights two days in a week on this route.
Considering the passengers’ demand, domestic tourism and commercial potential, Biman has taken the initiative to launch flights on Chattogram -Sylhet- Chattogram route, said Biman’s Deputy General Manager (Public Relations) Tahera Khandaker.
Earlier, Biman launched flights on the Sylhet-Cox’s Bazar route.
With the recent addition of three new Dash8 to Biman’s fleet, it has announced the launch of new domestic routes outside Dhaka as well as new international short-haul destinations.
The authorities expressed the hope that the launch of this flight will create a bridge between Sylhet and the port city of Chattogram for rapid development of tourism and commercial development.
Tahera Khandaker said, “Tickets for the Chattogram -Sylhet- Chattogram route can be purchased through Biman's mobile apps, websites, travel agents, tour operators, Biman call centers and sales counters”.
